Department of Human Services Seeking Your Input
December 12, 2012
The Dept. of Human Services is working on a project to develop intensive community-based services for children and youth with serious emotional disorders and their families and to expand the Money Follows the Person grant to assist children and youth as they transition from a psychiatric residential treatment  facility (PRTF) in ND or out of state.   The community-based services will be provided as an amendment to the ND Medicaid State Plan.

Comments are being sought as to what you, as family members and advocates, believe are needed services.  Please describe what services you believe are needed in ND that would better meet the needs of children and youth and their families, assist children and youth in the transition from a psychiatric residential facility; and  services that would assist in preventing an intensive placement like a PRTF.  We are focusing on developing services that would allow for children to be treated in their home communities whenever possible.

Comments are requested no later than January 1, 2013 to Susan Wagner at 701.328.8941 or
shwagner@nd.gov.  Thank you.
