Independence Welcomes Jill McDonald
September 2, 2011
Hi! My name is Jill McDonald; I am so excited to be a new staff member at Independence Inc. I will be the Information Specialist and you will likely find me at the front desk when you come in to the Minot office. This is a new career path for me, as I spent the last five years as a staff member at Dakota Elementary at Minot Air Force Base. While at Dakota, I wore many hats; I worked in the kitchen serving meals, taught small group reading intervention classes to kindergarteners, led small group math and reading intervention classes in grades 1-6, and also worked in the early childhood special education preschool classroom.
I am originally from Minot, but have lived elsewhere over the years. I lived in Germany for three years and in Virginia for six years. I have been back in Minot for six years now, and consider it home! The recent chaos of the flood has illustrated that Minot has a great sense of community and I hope as the long recovery process continues we are able to maintain that spirit of giving and compassion for others.
