Thanks to funding from the North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities, the Magic City has a dynamic group of advocates seeking opportunities to serve on boards, committees and councils throughout the Peace Garden State.
During August and September, I was able to watch nine complete strangers transform into well-qualified, committed advocates determined to make a difference in our community. The six week course allowed advocates to gain knowledge in topics such as leadership, ethical requirements, networking, professionalism, disability voice, Robert’s Rules of Order, and communication.
