Youth Transition Specialist Independence, Inc. is looking for a natural leader to serve as our next Youth Transition Specialist. The Youth Transition Specialist (YTS) is responsible to provide independent living and transition services to youth with all types of disabilities. Primarily based in a school setting, the YTS will provide group and classroom based trainings to better prepare students for successful lives.
The YTS will be a primary point of contact for Independence, Inc.’s youth transition program, BEYOND (Building and Encouraging Youth Opportunities in North Dakota). BEYOND is a character-based approach for youth with disabilities ages 14-22. It is designed to help students in the transition from the secondary school environment to independence in the world of work, post-secondary education, and adulthood.
Travel within a multi-county area is required for this position. This is a full time position. Preferred Qualifications · Combination of personal, professional and educational experiences that provide youth with the skills, knowledge, and abilities to work with youth with a variety of disabilities. · Experience developing training curricula and materials and conducting one-on-one and group training. · Proficient in Microsoft Word and experience using a database to document services. · Demonstrated commitment to changing outcomes for youth with disabilities.
